John Chapman had the idea for Jonnie Rocket in 1998. With the creation of Jonnie Rocket continually appearing in John’s imagination for two years, he put pen and pencil to paper forming his first draft in the year 2000.
With his love of space travel and all things film (John's brief appearance in Star Wars, A New Hope) Jonnie Rocket was initially written as a scripted storyboard, with a view to animating the Continued Adventures of Jonnie Rocket.
