Jonnie Rocket

To most people who know him Jonnie Cain is an ordinary twelve year old boy.  He is though a twelve year old boy with an extraordinary secret, because Jonnie can transform himself into the space adventurer Jonnie Rocket!

He is a quiet, grounded boy, who is confident in a non-arrogant way, but Jonnie has an inbuilt flaw – his impetuosity, which often lands him in trouble.

Like many boys of his age he loves to listen to music on his ipod and play computer games.  He’s a keen swimmer, plays football and collects model cars (especially American 1950’s models) – but the thing he loves best is riding his bike!

Dr Avatar (aka Dr Simon Cain)

Simon is Jonnie’s father.

He always had a passion for space and space travel, and was once a compulsive experimenter and inventor.

In an experiment that went badly wrong Dr Cain became not one, but two holograms.

The first hologram, Dr Avatar is Simon’s good side, a great source of knowledge and a mentor to Jonnie and a great universal power.  He now resides on the spiralling Crystal 8 poised in the centre of the Milky Way.

The second hologram is Captain Downfall, a galactic super-villain and pirate, and is Simon’s wicked side.  His plan is to wreak havoc with his futuristic weaponry so that he can conquer and dominate the galaxies.

Jan Cain

Jan is Jonnie’s mother.

She is a human dynamo working to support Jonnie and keep the house together.  She also spends many hours working with Dr Avatar to redress the problem of the double hologram. A witty and highly intelligent woman Jan is not only Jonnie’s mother she is also his confidante.

Grandma Grace

Grace is Jonnie’s grandmother and his guiding hand.

She shares Jonnie’s secret and is always around to give advice when necessary. Easy going, light-hearted and generous Grace is loved by everyone, especially Jonnie.

Sophia

Sophia is also twelve years old. She is rather shy and retiring, preferring a book to loud games.

Sophia is a very intelligent girl with lots of patience.  She’s gentle, kind and caring, but that doesn’t mean she’s a push over, as she has a determined streak which shows itself when she knows she’s right.

Sophia definitely keeps Jonnie on track.  His misadventures are often the result of good intentions that haven’t been thought through properly, and Sophia provides the steady, solid approach that gets him out of trouble time after time.

Sophia is Jonnie’s very best friend.

Space Pirates

Captain Downfall’s dissolute bunch of scoundrels, reprobates and villains; assisted by Bosun Duped, a bumbling, weedy, ‘yes man’.
